Chandler-Gilbert Students Shine at Artists of Promise

The Artists of Promise is an annual gala and exhibition honoring the Chancellor Award Winners of Maricopa Community Colleges' student competitions in creative writing, dance/choreography, fashion design, film/media arts, music composition, instrumental music, vocal music, theatre design, theatre performance and visual arts. The 2019 Artists of Promise gala and exhibition was held at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix.

We’re proud of the seven CGCC students who were honored at this year’s event.

Jerilynn Wilkins, Second Place, Piano Solo

Victor Flores, Jr., First Place, Male Classical Vocal

Calvin Smith, Jr., Third Place, Male Classical Vocal

Theatre

Hannah McKinnon, Third Place, Female Actor

Noah Weiss, Honorable Mention, Male Actor

Visual Art

Kelsey Petrosky, Entrant

With his first-place award in the Male Classic Vocal category, Victor Flores, Jr. was invited to perform at the gala. Victor performed “Du bist wie eine Blume” by Robert Schumann and “Ideale” by Francesco Paolo Tosti.
