Back to School

Let the countdown begin...only 21 days left of summer vacation!

Classes officially start Monday, August 22 and we know how hard it can be to get back into a school routine after a three month break. So to help you prepare and get organized, here are a few important reminders of things to do prior to the first day of class.

New student orientation starts this week at both campuses. We recommend attending this event to learn about all of the resources CGCC has to offer. This is an opportunity for you to meet current students, administrators, faculty and staff ; learn about the different departments on campus;  gain knowledge and skills that will contribute to your success and take a campus tour. Sign up for a orientation here.

If you still need to register, you better hurry! Classes are filling up and seats are limited. If you're having trouble finding the right class for you, no worries, we can help. Visit one of our academic advisors to help develop the right academic plan for you. Click here for more information on advisement. We recommend planning ahead if you need to meet with an advisor. Wait times are usually longer as the first day of classes approaches.

Don't forget, some classes may require you to complete a placement test prior to registration. You still have time to do so. We offer testing services at Pecos and Williams Campuses. Both locations provide course and academic testing to assist students with their personal goals. Click here for more information on the testing centers.

Have questions about your financial aid? Meet with a financial aid advisor before classes begin. Starting next week, the financial aid office is open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Don't let finances interfere with your education. Visit our financial aid website for more information, click here.

We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
